ROACH HOOKED WITH HEMP
Image left (courtesy of Fish South East) is of hemp seed, which is used in many a fishing competition. This month a report on Cheshire Online gave an account as follows: "This year's Crewe and District Summer League stayed almost as they were after Sunday's match on the Trent& Mersey Canal at Middleswick. Their 'red' team finished seventh on the day and have dropped slightly to seventh overall. The team's top rod was Peter Nelson, second on the day with roach taken to hemp weighing 7-4-0.
